Our first stop on our road trip down south was Asheville, NC
Nestled within the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville is most known for The Biltmore Estate - America's largest home.
Building of the home took place from 1888 to 1895 and has over 250 rooms. The Biltmore is still owned by ancestors of the original owner and visionary George Washington Vanderbilt II.
It was a treat touring the home and gardens of this sprawling estate. Today, The Biltmore properly also boasts a winery, hotel and fine dining restaurants.
We enjoyed our time there and look forward to returning one day. Next time we are planning on making full use of the many groomed mountain biking trails.
